modern society has to deal with on a daily basis. school
children are being medicated to improve concentration,
new dis-eases are being invented like adult attention
deficit.
The Attention Deficit
Disorders are very much related to the type of lifestyle
we have in modern society. We are bombarded with so
many external stimuli, like never before and since the
nature of the mind is to find happiness, it wonders
from one point to the other always trying to find more
excitement. Unfortunately, the external stimuli is never
enough for the mind and its wondering nature never ceases,
unless the persons looks within, not outside. Meditation
is the best solution for a wondering mind, a mind full
of thoughts, which is nothing else but an Attention
Deficit Disorder.
A mind with a Vata
imbalance has this symptom, they wonder and wonder erratically
and fast like the wind all over, never stopping. For
Vatas, Meditation is probably one of the best things
that can happen, since it brings calm to the wind storm.
A very important factor
is Good sleep. Understanding
that the nature of the mind is to wander. Humans in
general have over 90,000 thoughts per day from these
only 5% to 10% are voluntary. No wonder people can't
concentrate and have so many problems in their minds.
Calming your thoughts will set you free.
Anti-Vata Diet, with rich
and grounding complex carbohydrates, lots of roots and
proteins is necessary. It should be combined with mild
grounding herbs like jatamamsi, ashwagandha, bhrami,
gotu kola or skullcap. The key besides the herbs is
rest, relaxation and Meditation.
