Is Meditation
a Religion?
No, Meditation is a personal experience. It
does not relate to any dogma or ritual. There are three
aspects to religions: values, rituals and symbols; Meditation
doesn't pertain to any of them. Meditation can enhance
any spiritual believe, because it connects the Self
with the Self of an individual. All religions value
the effects of Meditation at a Spiritual Level.
What is the difference
between Prayer and Meditation?
Meditation is a corolary of prayer. The ultimate
goal of prayer is to reach God, prayer is talking to
God, Meditation is listening to God. Meditation is a
deeper way of prayer, in fact before meditating you
talk to God and then listen deeply.
What is the Spiritual
side of Meditation?
God resides within everything is creation,
including humans. The best place to find God is within,
not outside. The amount of Love you feel for yourself
is going to be consistent with the amount of God you
find at a time. When you understand that you are all
Love, all Light, all God, you will achieve enlightment.
Meditation leads us to this point, Meditation brings
all the beauty of your inner-self out to the world.
What is the Scientific
side of Meditation?
Meditation slows the amount of thoughts in
the Mind, the brain waves slow down allowing the whole
body to relax in a way that sleep can't achieve, whilst
the meditator enjoys complete awareness of what is going
on. During sleep we are not consciouss of the experience,
but during Meditation we are. The heart rate slows as
a product of the deep relaxation achieved. Renewal of
all the cells in the body creates deep healing. More
on the benefits of
meditation here.
Does Meditation
have side effects?
Meditation should be taught by a professional
teacher. There are many techniques and they are all
different in structure and method, but all trying to
reach the same goal, calm the mind. When taught properly
and guided properly, Meditation becomes a valuable tool
to enhance our life, our health and society's well-being.
